As Broman Group approached its 60th anniversary, the company found itself at a moment of change. With expansion underway into new markets outside Finland, the owners wanted to revisit how the company tells its story — not as a historical record, but as a living narrative about where the business is heading.

The Challenge

Rather than producing another traditional anniversary book, Broman Group wanted a format that could reach wider audiences and resonate on a more emotional level. They were looking for a story that could connect the company’s strong heritage with its current ambitions and ongoing generational transition.

The Approach

Smidig proposed an intimate, owner-driven film that places the family at the center of the narrative. The story begins with the founder, Väinö H. Broman, and continues with his sons, Harry and Eero Broman, who took over the business and are now beginning to engage the third generation. Through personal reflections and shared perspectives, the film links the company’s origins to its future direction.

The Outcome

The finished film, produced both as a longer, more in-depth version for internal use and as a shorter version for wider audiences, provides Broman Group with a clear and emotionally engaging story that supports both internal alignment and external communication. It strengthens the visibility of ownership, reinforces continuity across generations, and offers a compelling narrative framework as the company expands into new markets.
